Delivered by Marie Brennan, Commercial Manager at Birmingham Assay Office, the course is an ideal introduction to those working in the jewellery or precious metal trades, who would like to learn more about hallmarking.
It will cover the history of hallmarking, a vital piece of consumer protection and will update delegates on current UK Hallmarking regulations. Delegates will learn about hallmarking origins with a brief history of hallmarking in the UK, the development of UK Assay Offices, current hallmarking legislation, the importance of the International Hallmarking convention and current UK Jewellery market trends.

Please note that Birmingham Assay Office operates from a secure building. Once a booking is made, we will be in touch and you will be asked to provide photo ID in the form of a driving license or passport, ahead of the event. By sending your ID, you consent to Birmingham Assay Office storing your ID on file for 30 days after the event before it is permanently deleted.
If you are unable to provide photo ID in advance, you may not be allowed access to the building or event.
Upon arrival to Birmingham Assay Office, you may be subject to physical security checks.
